Normal Viewing vs. Flag Pole Method — Which Should You Choose?
This is the most important decision when ordering. Both are correct — it comes down to how you want the flag to read when viewed from the side of the vehicle.
Normal Viewing Method The flag looks the same on both sides of the vehicle — always oriented left-to-right in the standard flag direction. From either side, the flag reads identically. Most people find this the most natural-looking option.
Flag Pole Method The flag is oriented as if the vehicle is moving forward with the flag pole at the front. The driver's side looks normal, but the passenger side is mirrored — because when a flag is carried forward, both sides naturally display a mirror image of each other. This is the same logic used on US military uniforms, where the flag patch on the right shoulder is reversed so the field always faces forward (never retreating). If that detail matters to you, this is your option.

Installation
This is an uncut, real-time install video. We hadn't fast-forwarded anything — you can see exactly how we approached the install from start to finish, including the tricky parts. The video shows our original design which was upside down; follow it as a general technique tutorial and apply to your correctly-cut product.
What's the difference between the 2020–2024 and 2025 versions? The 2025 Defender received a minor refresh that changed the side panel shape slightly. These are separate precision cuts — make sure you select the correct year range for your vehicle.
Why would I buy 2 sets? The second set is sold at a discounted price. Keep one as a backup in case the first install is difficult — vinyl installs have a learning curve, especially on textured or curved surfaces. If your first install goes perfectly, the second set is yours to save or use later.
Does this fit the Defender 90? This overlay is designed specifically for the Defender 110 and 130, which share the same side window panel geometry. The Defender 90 has a different body panel profile and is not compatible with this cut.
Is this permanent? No — matte black vinyl with adhesive backing can be removed. Removal is easier when heated. On a black or dark vehicle, the panel will return to its original appearance cleanly in most cases.
Which orientation do most people choose? Most buyers go with Normal Viewing — it's the most intuitive look and both sides read the same. Flag Pole is for owners who want the technically "correct" directional flag orientation, or who are familiar with the military flag convention.
What does the squeegee do? The felt-lined squeegee helps push application fluid and air bubbles out from under the vinyl during a wet install. It's softer than a credit card and won't scratch the vinyl surface.
